One Particular Harbour
But there's this one particular harbour
So far but yet so near
Where I see the days as they fade away
And finally disappear
But now I think about the good times
Down in the caribbean sunshine
In my younger days I was so bad
Laughin' about all the fun we had
I seen enough to feel the world spin
Mixin' different oceans meetin' cousins
Listen to the drummers and the night sounds
Listen to the singers make the world go 'round
Flow into the sea
Like oils applied to canvas
They permeate through me
And there's that one particular harbour
Sheltered from the wind
Where the children play on the shore each day
And all are safe within
Most mysterious calling harbour
So far but yet so near
I can see the day when my hair's full gray
And I finally disappear...But NOT YET

Looking Back, we should have known.
Perhaps we were in denial.
We knew something was amiss.
Jimmy had cancelled shows in late 2022 and then,
after 3 very cool short-term-notice-only-for-locals gigs in small venues in Key West, no future shows.

We knew there had been some hospital stays, but he always emerged smiling &
still saying "BUT NOT YET" , then singing another song.
Only on July 2nd when he made a surprise appearance in
Sunset Cove RI at Mac's concert did his physical appearance alarm Parrot Heads.
Even then, he sang with joy & his typical humor for an hour, to the utter delight of the crowd.
Looking back, you can see the worry & concern on Mac's face,
but Jimmy was so happy, eyes still smiling...how could he be THAT sick - he just needed a break, right?
And then the unimaginable happened.
We awoke Saturday morning of Labor Day Weekend to the sounds of his music
on our televisions, tablets & phones & his smiling face on our screens.

Jimmy had Left The Stage, Sailed On, leaving us speechless & in tears.
Would life ever be the same for our Parrot Head Nation?

No, not the same, but even in the face of such uncertainty, our 5OCP PHClub thrived & grew.
The music sustained us & we continued - the conga lines formed & our feathers flew.
